A laser cutting machine is a laser beam that will be emitted from the laser device and focused into high power density through the optical path system. Laser cutting uses invisible beams instead of conventional mechanical knives. It has the characteristics of high precision, fast cutting, not limited to cutting pattern restriction, automatic typesetting saving material, smooth cut, low processing cost and so on, and it will gradually improve or replace traditional metal cutting process equipment. The mechanical part of the laser cutter head is not in contact with the workpiece and will not scratch the workpiece surface during work. The laser cutting speed is fast, the cut is smooth, generally does not need follow-up processing. The heat affected area of cutting is small, the deformation of the plate is small, the cutting seam is narrow(0.1mm~0.3mm). There is no mechanical stress and shear burr on the cut. Therefore, the laser has a very pure color, almost no divergent directionality, extremely high luminescence intensity and high coherence.
Laser cutting is realized by using high power density energy generated by laser focusing. Under the control of the computer, the laser is discharged by pulse, which outputs the controlled repeated high-frequency pulse laser and forms a certain frequency and pulse width beam, The pulse laser beam is transmitted and reflected through the optical path and is focused on the surface of the processed object through a focus lens group, it creates tiny, high-energy-density spots, The focal spot is near the surface to be processed, processed material melted or vaporized at instant high temperature. Each high-energy laser pulse sputters a tiny hole in the surface, under the computer control, the laser head and the processed material carry on the continuous relative motion dot according to the Pre-drawn graphics, by doing so, the object will be processed into the desired shape.
The process parameters(cutting speed, laser power, gas pressure, etc) and the track of motion are both controlled by the CNC system，The slag at the slit is blown away by a certain pressure auxiliary gas.
